Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts will raise its flag on top of the world with the debut of its 289-room urban retreat in Tibet on April 17. The Shangri-La Hotel, Lhasa will be a luxurious home base for those wishing to explore dramatic scenery and some of the world's most culturally significant Buddhist sites, including World Heritage Sites such as the Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Sera Monastery and Norbulingka Palace.

The Ritz-Carlton, Beijing is offering a "Comfort You Package" with extra hotel credit for winter escape seekers. Anyone who stays two consecutive nights will receive $50 (303 yuan) credit per stay and three nights to receive $100 at deluxe room.
