The Truth speaks for itself
Pierce showed that his bromance with Kevin Garnett hasn't been affected despite the parting of the ways for the duo prior to the 2014-2015 National Basketball Association season.
Known by his nickname "The Truth", Pierce posted a picture taken with Garnett in 1995. Without the addition of words, the picture stood as a silent tribute to the seven seasons they spent together.
The former Celtics combination, which began when Garnett moved to the Boston club in July 2013, reached a career high in 2008 when they secured the coveted NBA title. Their partnership continued for another year after they were traded as a package to the Brooklyn Nets in June last year.
Pierce is with the Washington Wizards now, but his Twitter profile photo still features the Celtics' green shirt he wore for 15 seasons since 1998.
The Truth never shied away from public displays of affection toward Boston, a city he called his second home. He couldn't help but blurt out on Twitter how "excited" he was to be back in the city, even though he will have to face his old team on Sunday.
He opened up about his love toward the city in a video posted on The Players' Tribune - a website allowing athletes to speak directly to fans, saying: "I miss Boston….I love the people here".
His presence during video filming clearly caused a buzz among the public who were happy to welcome back their old-timer and Pierce said in the video that people in Boston return his love.
As a man who gave his best 15 years to the city, he deserves it.
