A group of intrepid explorers are on a mission to experience the most heart-pounding waves in the world - travelling the globe to bodysurf some of the fiercest waters. These unique images capture the sheer force of Teahupoo in Tahiti, a wave known for being dangerous enough even for board surfers riding the powerful water. But for Mark Cunningham, Mike Stewart, Chris Kalima and Durdam Rocherelle - some of the best bodysurfers in the world - it was about experiencing the thrill of the wave against their skin. Teahupoo comes from deep water and jacks up onto the shallow reef - one of the very few reefs that can handle such large swell and raw power smashing against it.[Photo/icpress.cn] |
