"It was an exciting match as both teams played their best match so far in the tournament. Our team is a little better especially at crucial points of the match," said Dong Ruijun, head coach of the Chinese women's volleyball team at EAG.
After China won the first set 25-23, the high-spirited Japanese team rallied in the second set and once led the score at 8-2.
"We tried our best to restrain Japan's top spiker and finally won the second set 27-25," Dong said.
And the third set was easier for China as they wrapped the match 25-19.
"Teamwork is our strong point and it really played an important role in this match especially when we were lagging behind," said Chen Xintong, captain of the Chinese team.
