Comment on "Apple fans bid final farewell" (China Daily, Oct 7)
I found this article uplifting in several ways, despite its tragic subject. Many consumers in China and some other countries feel sad for the passing of the American IT giant Steve Jobs. I doubt that should a Chinese artist or inventor die that the majority of Americans would even note his or her passing, even if we Americans had viewed their work or used their creations.
What I also found moving was the understanding of Steve Jobs' business innovations as well. Apple seemed to strive to make its products cheap and available to as many people around the world as possible. As an amateur filmmaker I especially appreciate Apple's advancements in cheap and affordable media editing software.
