Comment on "County's donation rule raises questions" (China Daily, Sept 2)
As a foreigner I enjoy reading China Daily everyday. You always report about authorities' malpractices and appeal for rectification in the best interest of the country's social and economic development.
A recent report, "County's donation rule raises questions", once again brings to notice the abuse perpetrated by local authorities. It is unthinkable that nobody knows what the money "donated" by kindhearted people was used for.
The central government should take measures to stop the abuse of power by the local authorities and restore people's confidence in the administration.
