"It's a great honor to sing at the Royal Hall and introduce Chinese culture and Chinese music to European people," Tan said at the news conference.

"Performing at the Royal Hall is a dream for artists. As a singer, it's also my biggest wish to perform at the Royal Hall, just like athletes longing to go to the Olympics," Tan added.

The well-known singer also hopes the concert will bring Chinese and European people together.

Tan and Wells co-performed several musical compositions themed at the city of Beijing, showing a new image of the Chinese metropolis.

The concert also aims to promote the Olympic spirit and emphasizes the continuity between the Olympic Games' past and future.

Music is an art that crosses borders, Tan said, adding that she hopes the concert could bring the wishes of Beijing to London.

Tan's performance in London is at the invitation of the International Olympic Committee's marketing commission chairman Gerhard Heiberg.

Tan is widely known as a leading popular singer and performed during the Opening Ceremony of the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.

Tan and Wells first worked together on the song 'Sky' for the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Wells' compositions were selected as the TV theme music in Beijing.
