Q: Describe your impression of the Chinese economy.

A: I think we have to look at any economy from a macroscopic viewpoint, being that we live in a globally functioning world. China has grown to be one of the leading economies in the world and we think that's important.

We're investing in tomorrow's engineers through our work with learning institutions throughout China and we intend to continue this activity along with our investments and partnerships with Chinese industries.

What's the best way to break the ice with a Chinese businessman you've met for the first time?

To me, "breaking the ice" means that the introduction might be somewhat unusual or uncomfortable. In most cases, however, the businessperson I'm meeting face-to-face for the first time is likely to be someone who is familiar with our software. No matter where you go in the world, if you have common interests with the person you are meeting for the first time it generally makes the interaction fairly simple.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?

I would have to say it is my contributions to growing our business from its humble beginnings in the 1970s into the globally recognized technological leader it is today. I am very proud to lead the best team on the planet, while keeping a firm grounding and devotion to my family, friends and our customers.
