As a prominent city in Chinese history and culture, Nanjing is widely recognized as one of the "Four Great Ancient Capitals of China". Nanjing metro stations are filled with humanistic spirit. Eleven of its stations feature huge murals with themes from traditional Chinese festivals.

With the theme "Qixi Festival" (Chinese Valentine's Day) Muxuyuan metro station has gained much attention among visitors. With a starry sky on the roof, it creates an atmosphere of romance. Therefore, it is also called the "station of love".
