Posters from the Great Leap Forward (1958 to 1961) tended to hail unrealistic achievements. Many were created by the "masses", or workers and peasants. These were done in cartoon style, which often carry exaggerated and caricatured elements, reflecting both revolutionary zeal and social tension.
