Legendary dance for Mogao Grottoes

A young dancer from the Hangzhou Song and Dance Theater performed the Dunhuang-style dance for audiences at the Dunhuang art exhibition at the Zhejiang Art Museum in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province on January 5, 2014. Seven restored caves, 59 replicas of Buddhist wall paintings, 10 sculptures and 10 bricks from the Tang Dynasty period of the Mogao Grottoes in Dunhuang, Gansu province are on display at the exhibition which will run through March 16, 2014. The paintings of Dunhuang Fei Tian, the goddess of music and dance, are a common sight at the Mogao Grottoes.[Photo/icpress] |
