An exhibition featuring Daodao, a popular comic canine character created in 2002 by Murong Yindao, a mainland cartoonist, is being held in Fuzhou, Fujian province.

"The Happy Hours of Daodao" chronicles the history and reveals the behind-the-scene stories of the fictional pup. A series of original sketches, posters, artistic installments and video clips are also on display to show the dog's rise to stardom.

Dubbed "the China's version of Snoopy", Daodao, which has a big head and adorable eyes, always likes to ponder upon life and is characterized by its witty and philosophical words.

The comic dog has garnered rave reviews and enjoys a large fan base on the Internet, with lots of netizens hailing Daodao as "a dog with healing power" for its heartwarming lines.

The exhibit will run until Feb 28.
