The Xihua Hall at the Memorial to Zhou Enlai and Deng Yingchao in Tianjin copies the West Parlor of Zhongnanhai in Beijing in the 1960s, where buildings in the front yard used to be offices of the State Council. Premier Zhou and Deng Yingchao received domestic and foreign guests there. The compound was chosen by Zhou Enlai as his office and residence in 1949.
