BEIJING - China's meteorological authority forecast on Tuesday that the north will continue to see sweltering weather over the next few days, while the south is expected to be hit by a new round of storms.
North and northeast regions will see temperatures up to 30 degrees Celsius for the rest of the week and people are advised to take precautions against sunstroke.
In contrast, heavy rains are forecast in southern regions from Wednesday to Saturday.
Parts of Anhui, Fujian, Guangdong, Guangxi, Guizhou, Hunan, Jiangxi, and Zhejiang should prepare for heavy rain and take measures to prevent harm from geological disasters.
