Hi Song, a new music reality show hits TV screens on Nov 4.
Produced by Tencent Video and EE-Media, the Chinese version of an imported concept has been acclaimed by Mary Richmond, a consultant on the original.
She said stage design, choice of songs and the broadcast platform in the Chinese version are full of creativity and the best among a series of foreign versions including Irish, Russian and Ukrainian.
Following on from the popularity of The Voice of China, Hi Song has added new elements. For the first time in mainland music shows, audiences will see original songwriters perform their work.
Unlike other music reality shows, Hi Song puts the focus on songs created by grass-roots writers rather than performers.
