Boeing delivers record number of planes to China

BEIJING - The Boeing Co. delivered a record 143 planes to China last year, according to new data released on Wednesday.
The figure represent a year-on-year growth of 60 percent, Boeing said in a statement.
The company secured 230 orders from the Chinese market in 2013. It will see plane delivery exceed 140 again this year.
Marc Allen, Boeing China president, forecast that China will need 5,580 new planes in the next 20 years, with a total value of $780 billion.
The company delivered its 1,000th plane to China in April 2013.
