Record number of passengers through Chengdu airport

The number of passengers entering and exiting China through the Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport in Sichuan province reached 2.45 million in 2013, ranking first among all city airports within the middle and west regions of the country, Sichuan Daily reported on Monday.
The specific number, 2,455,717, is a new high and is a 25.3-percent rise from the previous year. The number of entry and exit flights, 18,131, is an 18.7-percent growth from the previous year, according to the Chengdu office of the border control department.
The number of passengers going through the Chengdu airport has been increasing rapidly recently and reached 2 million for the first time in late October. Within two months, it has reached 2.45 million, the report said.
