Charity celebrity and former actor Li Yapeng is no longer the corporate representative of the Beijing Shuyuan China Culture Development Foundation, the Oriental Morning Post reported.
Li was recently accused of misusing the money he collected through fundraising for the foundation.
The accusation was initiated by Zhou Xiaoyun, a popular whistle-blower and cyber reporter with more than 150,000 followers on Sina Weibo, a popular Chinese micro-blogging website.
Before the accusation was exposed online, Li was the corporate representative for both the foundation and a private cultural communication company in Beijing.
Information about the foundation on qyxy.baic.gov.cn, a website of enterprises' creditability information under the municipal administration for industry and commerce, shows that the foundation's corporate representative was changed from Li Yapeng to Zhang Ping on Dec 20.
The civil organizations office under the Beijing Civil Affairs Bureau responded on Thursday that no illegal practice was found at the foundation so far.
