Fire kills 5 in S China

GUANGZHOU - Five people died, including two children, in a house fire in south China's Guangdong Province on Saturday morning, local authorities said.
The fire engulfed a six-storey residential property with 16 people inside in Baiyun district of Guangzhou, Guangdong's capital, according to the provincial fire department.
Two people died at the scene. Fourteen people were rescued from the house, however, three of them died after emergency treatment failed.
An initial investigation showed that the fire was triggerd by a short circuit in the utility room.
The fire have been put out. A further investigation is underway.
