Traffic police chief used fake license plate

A traffic police chief in Luonan county, Shaanxi province, was detained for 15 days and fined because he used a fake license plate, China Daily learned on Tuesday.
Wang Hongwei, chief of the Shimen unit of the county's traffic police, used a license plate that displayed numbers issued to another car.
He was discovered on Oct 12 by the owner of the real license plate, surnamed Chen, a resident of the county.
Chen went Shangluo city police who have jurisdiction over the county. On Oct 14, the police bureau detained Wang for 15 days, fined him 5,000 yuan ($820) and put 12 penalty points on his driving license.
