A 45-year old man from Wenzhou, Zhejiang province, spends more than half an hour commuting to work by kayak three days a week as exercise, Qianjiang Evening News reported.
Liao Chaodong, who lives in the inner city about 6 kilometers from his workplace, started kayaking to work in the middle of July.
The trip would normally take about 10 minutes by bus or about 20 minutes by bicycle.
Liao has already lost about 2 kilograms from his regular kayaking. He said it is an exciting sport that enables him to exercise and enjoy the city views in the early morning after sunrise and in the late afternoon before sunset.
Liao chose kayaking as a hobby after he injured his knees doing other sports and his brother introduced him to the sport, which wouldn't hurt his knees.
