Boys drown in quarry pit 'difficult to supervise'

Two 13-year-old boys from a village in Beijing's Fangshan district drowned in a quarry pit that was difficult to supervise because it was in Hebei province, the Beijing News reported on Wednesday.
The two boys were grade-six pupils at a primary school in the village of Nanshangle.
After school on Monday, the boys went to play on the banks of the Beijuma River next to the village.
The boys got into difficulty in the nearby pit and fell into the 10-meter deep water.
That stretch of the river was managed by Nanhe village, a neighboring village of Nanshangle.
The director of Nanhe villagers'committee said that it was hard supervise the pit which was in Hebei province.
The incident is under police investigation.
