Veterans will take priority for civil servant employment in Ningbo, Zhejiang province, according to the city government's official website.
The government of Ningbo said in a notice that, starting from this year, veterans with bachelor's degrees will be given preference for civil servant positions when they have the same qualifications as other candidates.
This is considered a measure to encourage more college students to join the army. College students who volunteer to join the army in Ningbo will also receive an annual subsidy of 10,000 yuan ($1,600).
