The ceremony for the Yan Wenliang Art Award will be held on Aug 31 at the Suzhou Art Museum in Suzhou, Jiangsu province.

Yan Wenliang (1893-1988) founded the Suzhou Art School in 1922 and the Suzhou Art Museum in 1928.

This is the second time the artist's namesake award will be given. The award was launched in 2011.

The judges have selected two artists to receive awards.

Zhong Biao has been selected to receive an award for being an outstanding, established artist, and Cui Xiuwen has will be awarded for being a promising, emerging artist.

Each artist will present dual solo exhibitions to display through Sept 15.
