A man in the Ningxia Hui autonomous region was detained after he wrote in his micro blog that he planned to bomb the Beijing subway, Xinhua News Agency reported on Aug 1.
The man, named Li, had said in his micro blog the week before that he wanted to explode a bomb in the capital's subway and in Tian'anmen Square, the report said.
After police detained Li on July 30, Li confessed that he was imitating Wu Hongfei, a rock singer who made similar posts online. Wu is currently under administrative detention, the report said.
Wu will be released on Aug 2, Beijing police said.
