BEIJING - Senior Chinese and US military officials vowed further naval cooperation on Tuesday.
China will work with the United States to further deepen military trust and cooperation, said Qi Jianguo, deputy chief of the general staff of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), during his meeting with Cecil Haney, commander of the US Pacific Fleet.
China will positively push forward the establishment of new China-US military ties based on "equality, mutual benefit and win-win cooperation," Qi said.
The US and China have had frequent military exchanges over the past year, Haney said, adding that the two navies should further deepen their trust and enhance their cooperation.
