Beijing is taking steps against possible flooding as the wet season approaches.
The capital's meteorological department predicted that the city will see about five to eight days of heavy rain from June to August.
Beijing's flood and drought control team has upgraded communications and alerts for heavy rain will be issued on a number of channels, including micro blogs and apps.
Heavy rain hit the city on July 21 last year, killing 78 people.
