A man robbed a gold store of what looked like six gold bars, but five were imitations, the Youth Daily in eastern China's Shanghai reported.
The robber, who wore a hat and a pair of glasses, walked into a shop in a mall in Shanghai on Saturday night. He threatened sales staff with a home-made gun and took six gold bars from the sales counter.
Shop officials said that because five of the gold bars were not real, the value of the man's haul totaled only 20,000 yuan ($3,125).
