22% of middle school students try smoking

According to a recent survey, 22.5 percent of middle school students have tried smoking, the Beijing News reported Friday.

The survey targeted 40,000 middle school students during May and June this year and was conducted by the China Tobacco Control Association. It found that age 12 to 14 was the peak period for students to attempt to smoke.
