The blood bank and the Red Cross of Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province, said on Wednesday that they will try to help a girl who lost sight after giving blood with future treatment.

Xiao Xiaohui gave blood on Aug 9 last year. She then fainted, hit her head on a chair and lost sight in one eye, Today Morning Express reported.

Doctors have said the sight in the left eye will not return. But Xiao said she would never regret giving blood.

To treat her, Xiao's family has spent about 50,000 yuan ($7,800) and more than 70,000 yuan is needed for future treatment.

Since her family could not afford the cost, her father turned to the blood bank and the Red Cross of Ningbo for help.
