Snow sculptures and ice lanterns heat up Harbin

Harbin, capital of Northeast China’s Heilongjiang province, became a world of snow sculptures and ice lanterns on Monday as two events opened on the same day.
The 29th China Harbin Sun Island International Snow Sculpture Art Expo kicked off at the scenic spot of the Sun Island. The exhibition covers an area of 600,000 square meters and uses 120,000 cubic meters of snow.
Meanwhile, the 43th China Harbin Ice Lantern Garden Party was held in Zhaolin Park, drawing a large number of visitors.
