Xu Ping, 58, former chairman of Dongfeng is to fill the vacancy at the FAW Group in the wake of former chairman Xu Jianyi being placed under investigation for corruption since March 15.
Xu joined the Second Automobile Works, predecessor of Dongfeng, in 1982 after graduating from Hefei University of Technology and chaired the company for almost 10 years since June 2005.
FAW Group's former chairman and deputy general manager were tried and sentenced in 2012.
