Zhu Yanfeng takes over as chairman of Dongfeng Motor with the carmaker saying its former chairman Xu Ping will move to the FAW Group.
Zhu, 54, has served the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee as deputy secretary since 2012. He was former general manager of FAW from 1999 to 2007. Joining the Jilin province-based carmaker in 1983 after graduating from Zhejiang University, he became general manager in 1999. He was appointed vice-governor ofJilin province in 2007 and elected deputy secretary of the provincial party committee in 2012.
It was announced last year that Dongfeng's vice-president was under investigation, and 55 former management team members were said to have violated the law, including executives in the passenger car company, the Dongfeng Honda joint venture and other subsidiary companies.
