"China is such a success story in terms of its economic development and the way it's going ahead compared to some of the more mature economies," Gazard said.

He said the country is mindful of treating partners' concerns and what they need to achieve.

"Among all the countries around here, there's a view that China is so big and so strong, but there was a lot of conciliation in this speech. It was good to hear him speak about the views of others and how China wants to be a friend," he said.
