As a part of the 5,000 child safety seat donation plan, the company on Feb 26 donated 1,000 child safety seats to China Women's Development Foundations, and jointly held the China Child Road Safety Forum in Beijing.
However, what is more important than donating seats is the fact that the child safety issues demand more attention, and further road safety education is needed, according to Yu Hongqiu, a member of the foundations' council.
The proportion of parents in China using child safety seats is so low that less than one percent of children use safety seats, and number here is much lower than Europe.
But the most important thing is to raise the awareness of parents, and let the parents know that if their child is in a child seat, it is safe in a car, instead of holding the child, according to Heizmann.
