Delivery companies in Beijing must have their couriers inspect parcels in front of the senders, according to a regulation on delivery safety management released recently.
The regulation says delivery companies should refuse clients who do not let couriers check parcels, Beijing Times reported on Thursday.
It requires delivery companies to set up a safety check and reporting system and states dangerous items should not be accepted for delivery.
In addition, delivery companies will be punished if they sell clients' private information, such as phone number and address, with a maximum fine of 30,000 yuan ($4,960).
