European Aeronautic Defense and Space Company (EADS), parent company of Airbus SAS, will change its name to Airbus Group next year.
The reorganized group will have three main subsidiaries: commercial aircraft, defense and space and helicopters.
"The renaming simply gathers the entire company under the best brand we have, one that stands for internationalization, innovation and integration — and also for some two-thirds of our revenue," chief executive Tom Enders said. "It reinforces the message that ‘we make things fly'."
EADS also released its first-half year report on Wednesday and said the group's revenues increased 6 percent to 26.3 billion euros ($35 billion), and the commercial aircraft division saw a 10.8 percent year-on-year revenue rise.
