Shanghai will be home to CPhl China, an international pharmaceutical ingredient exhibition, which will be held at Pudong New International Expo Center on June 25.
"The three-day event will provide a golden opportunity for Chinese pharmaceutical enterprises to expand business abroad," said Weng Yonghe, deputy general manager of Shanghai UBM Sinoexpo International Exhibition Co Ltd.
China's pharmaceutical industry saw revenue of 272.4 billion yuan ($43.9 billion) in the first two months of this year, up 22.7 percent over the same period last year, bringing profit of 25.74 billion yuan, an increase of 24.3 percent, according to statistics from China Chamber of Commerce for Import & Export of Medicines & Health Products.
"The growth of the pharmaceutical industry has provided opportunities for Chinese pharmaceutical companies to develop special bulk pharmaceutical chemicals and bio-pharmaceuticals," said Weng.
She said more than 2,500 exhibitors from over 20 countries will display their latest products.
