A total of 21 companies withdrew their IPO applications last week, China Securities Regulatory Commission reported on May 24.
There are 194 companies that have now stopped their IPO applications this year, according to the commission.
However, there are still 650 applicants waiting for the regulator's approval of their IPO applications.
The commission said the regulator will start spot checks on IPO applications in June.
