The 1st China (Shanghai) International Technology Fair, which aims to promote advanced technology exchanges globally will be held in Shanghai from May 8 to May 11.
The fair, which will be held in Intex Shanghai and Shanghaimart Expo in the city's Changning district, is expected to attract 319 companies from 31 countries and regions.
Shang Yuying, director of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, said that 199 foreign companies will participate in the event and that 23 companies are Fortune 500 companies. The total exhibition area is 30,000 square meters.
The event is one of the four largest State-level exhibitions in China. But unlike others, such as the Beijing International Fair for Trade in Services and the China Import and Export Fair, the fair will only focus on trading the latest technology.
More than 30,000 visitors from around the world are expected to attend the event, including 25,000 professional visitors. Non-professional visitors are welcome to attend the exhibition on May 11.
To protect the intellectual property rights of the participants, the Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration will be present in the exhibition to deal will disputes between different parties.
