Vegetable price drop continues in May

Vegetable prices across China continued to drop in May as the weather warmed up and fresh vegetables came to the market, official data showed.
Vegetable prices in major cities across China started to fall by the end of April and the decline accelerated in May. Compared with April 23, average prices for 21 kinds of vegetable dropped by 5.5 percent. Declines for some, including cucumbers and peppers, were as big as 10 percent, official data showed.
At the same time, price drops were also seen in pork and cooking oil while dairy product prices remained relatively stable, the data showed.
