President Hu Jintao paid a state visit to the UK at the invitation of Queen Elizabeth II in November, 2005.
Hu said that China and the UK have established a comprehensive strategic partnership, with their strategic interests steadily expanding and mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples growing.
The queen said China's development has caught the world's attention and admiration.
