AMMAN - Jordan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Nasser Judeh said Sunday the Arab kingdom will take part in the Geneva II conference scheduled to be held late January, the state-run Petra news agency reported.

The minister said Jordan supports a political solution to end the crisis in Syria that preserves the country's stability and unity with the participation of all Syrians.

Judeh stressed the importance of the Geneva II conference in this regard.

On the Palestinian issue, the minister said Jordan will go ahead with efforts to support attaining peace between the Palestinians and the Israelis.

The official reiterated that creating an independent and viable Palestinian state at the borders of 1967 is a strategic interest for Jordan, which is directly involved in final status issues including Jerusalem, water, refugees, security and borders.
