Due to the Danish EU Presidency, the Danish Embassy in China organized an Open Day event to offer Chinese visitors a Danish experience showcasing culture, famous brands, education and career opportunities.

More than 4,000 people registered for the Open Day event on the Danish Embassy's weibo page, a twitter-like micro blog website. Of the people who applied, 1,500 were selected to.

Chinese visitors were presented with a variety of Danish culture activities including a photo exhibition introducing 'A Cycling Life in the Capital of Denmark', and guided tours of the Ambassador's residence displaying quality furniture, design and art.

The Danish Ambassador, Friis Arne Petersen believes the Open Day event is a great opportunity to give the Chinese public a feel of what Denmark represents.

In the EU-China Year of Intercultural Dialogue, all EU Embassies in China organized an open day event to celebrate cultural cooperation between Europe and China. Due to the Presidency, the Danish Open Day was the biggest of all the events.

Thirteen Danish companies operating on the Chinese market were part of the event showcasing their products and services with a fashion show by a famous Danish fashion brand as one of the highlights of the day.
