If the combination of world-famous Chinese liquor and uniquely dressed women itself isn't enough to convince you to visit Guizhou, perhaps the world's largest population of globally endangered pink azalea blooms will do it.

The southwest province's tourism development conference is turning seven years old this year, and fans from around the world are lining en mass to see the dashing azalea.

And in typical local style, the Bijie government has rolled out the red carpet and invited the world to celebrate the annual conference by offering a number of special exhibits to mark the occasion.

Home to more than 20 state-level tourism sites, the province welcomed 129 million local and international tourists in 2010.

The tourism industry in Guizhou province created 1 million jobs in 2011 and also contributed nearly 15 percent of the local villagers' average income.

Dedicated villagers have spent months preparing a wide range of activities to be part of the annual conference.
