HANOI - Vietnamese Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Tuan Anh met the head of China's General Administration of Sports Liu Peng Wednesday.

Both sides agreed on the initiative of organizing the annual cycling tournament between Hanoi and Guangzhou, which will be later expanded into China-ASEAN cycling tournament.

China will support Vietnam in hosting the 18th Asian Games in 2019 in Hanoi as well as other regional sports tournaments. And China will also provide favorable conditions for Vietnamese sports teams to train and compete with Chinese top-rank athletes in China.

Both sides highly evaluated the efficiency in sports cooperation between the two countries over the past years. Currently, many Chinese athletes, coaches and sports experts are working in Vietnam, while some Vietnamese chess players and more than 300 sports students are training and studying in China.
