Probe train accident thoroughly

Comment on "Ministry spokesman apologizes for deadly crash" (China Daily website, July 25)

Official apologies to the public are the first positive step that the authorities should take, and sacking of senior officials responsible for the accident is the second.

But the key to deal with such accidents is to conduct a thorough investigation to find out the causes, and prevent them from recurring.

The investigation committee should comprise experts from various countries, too, because China can learn a lot from their experiences of tackling and preventing such accidents.
