I suggest authorities in more countries censor pornography, especially on the Internet, to safeguard the psychological and moral health of society.

It is now a known fact that the increase in the number of underage rapists is linked to pornography. Pornography's influence is powerful because teenagers are more receptive to photographs and films.

In New York City alone, the number of rapists below the age of 15 increased by 200 percent in one year. In Brittany, France, a group of 11 young men, eight of them underage, raped a 14-year-old girl for two months. It was subsequently known that they had been constantly viewing pornographic films and that they wanted to experience what they saw.

The Spanish Audiovisual Law is a good example of how to keep children away from porn films. Such films are telecast in Spain late at night and on pay channels only, which prevent many children from watching pornography on TV sets in their own rooms.

Perhaps China is a better example, for it does not allow pornography either on the Internet or TV. Maybe more countries should take similar measures for the Internet to protect our children.
