Comment on "No fear of irreversible inflation" (China Daily, Jan 22)

Reducing the income gap between the rich and the poor is crucial to building a harmonious society. But currently many ordinary people are under tremendous pressure because of rising commodity prices.

Inflation can play havoc with people's lives and livelihood. I hope the government finds a proper and reasonable way to deal with soaring prices, at least for the sake of the common people.
