Comment on “WikiLeaks loses major source of revenue” (China Daily website, Dec 5)

The US goes around the world proclaiming its devotion to free speech and criticizing other nations for not allowing it, but when free speech hurts the US and its interests, as did WikiLeaks, suddenly free speech is illegal and has to be prosecuted and put in prison.

What rank hypocrisy. Free speech is fine as long as the US benefits from it, but when it doesn't, suddenly free speech has to be shut down and the truth tellers put in prison. What a laugh.
